Bitcoin Ethereum Edge Higher Following Jobs Data; XDC Network Emerges As Top Gainer
Bitcoin (CRYPTO: BTC) edged higher, with the cryptocurrency prices trading above the key $29,000 level on Friday.
Ethereum (CRYPTO: ETH) also moved slightly higher, trading above the key $1,800 mark this morning.
The U.S. economy added 187,000 jobs in July, compared to market estimates of 200,000 and compared to a revised 185,000 gain in June. The unemployment rate fell to 3.5% in July from 3.6% in June and versus market estimates of 3.6%.
XDC Network (CRYPTO: XDC) was the top gainer over the prior 24 hours, while Conflux (CRYPTO: CFX) turned out to be the biggest loser.
At the time of writing, the global crypto market cap rose to $1.17 trillion, recording a 24-hour gain of 0.1%. BTC was trading higher by 0.2% at $29,170 while ETH rose by around 0.2% to $1,836 on Friday.
