Peru Blockchain Conference 2023: Driving Crypto Community Growth in Latin America
The upcoming Peru Blockchain Conference 2023 (#PBCONF23) is set to become a pivotal event for the growth of the crypto community across Latin America.
Taking place in Lima's Auditorio NOS PUCP on April 28 and 29, the conference aims to build on the success of its predecessor, the Lima Crypto Capital Conference 2022.
As the most important tech event in Peru and the Andean region, it will address a wide range of topics, including blockchain, Web3, crypto, DeFi, regulation, artificial intelligence and more.
After witnessing a strong turnout at the Lima Crypto Capital Conference 2022, event organizers Kristopher Panana and Mauricio Ramos (Osito Lima) are now determined to make an even bigger impact.
The 2023 conference is designed to engage more people and further propel the Web3 ecosystem throughout Latin America. This ambitious event is made possible by Factum Investments, a financial services holding company boasting more than 25 years of experience and offices in Miami and Latin America.
The timing for such an event is ideal, as interest in cryptocurrencies has surged in Peru. According to the Triple A Blockchain Latam Report 2022, 1.2 million Peruvians (3.7% of the population) own cryptocurrencies. Furthermore, a report by Buenbit indicates that 60% of Peru's banked population has shown interest in purchasing cryptocurrencies.
The Peru Blockchain Conference 2023 will serve as a platform for collaboration and knowledge-sharing among Web3 companies, investors, banks, governments, enthusiasts, academics and entrepreneurs. With more than 1,000 in-person attendees expected, alongside more than 10,000 virtual attendees and over 50 live speakers from around the globe, the event promises to deliver a wealth of insights and perspectives.
Among the notable speakers are influential intellectual Hernando de Soto, Axie Infinity (CRYPTO: AXS) co-founder Jeffrey Zirlin (Jihoz), and Erick Goñi, Peru's top trader and CEO of Grupo Ergo. Other international and local speakers include Mexican Sen. Indira Kempis, LATAM's top blockchain content creator KMANUS and JorGeek, Peru's number one tech content creator.
Event organizers Panana and Ramos are excited about the speakers and inviting people to attend this pivotal event.
In a conversation with Benzinga, they said "This is a unique opportunity for attendees to learn from influential leaders such as Jihoz, a prominent promoter of the Web3 ecosystem, who is coming to Latin America for the first time. Furthermore, attendees will have the chance to meet Hernando de Soto, the conceptual creator of Web3, who has been mentioned in over 500 blockchain articles and has inspired many entrepreneurs in the industry, including Marc Andreessen of a16z.com."
The conference will also feature special guests such as Pablo Caballero, ambassador of El Salvador in Peru, and representatives from various companies, universities and government agencies such as Criptovision, Kindly, Unisuam, Fireblocks, Buenos Aires Government, Cryptometales, Algorand, CoinCaex, Mexico's Senate, Sumara Hub Legal, Adolfo Ibañez University, Metary, Buda.com, Buenbit.com, EY, Sura Gaming, Axie Infinity and more.
(The writer of this article Jose Rodrigo Safdiye is also speaking at the conference. As the director of Crypto News at Benzinga, he looks forward to sharing his insights on the latest trends and developments in the crypto industry. This event is an excellent opportunity for attendees to gain unique perspectives from a wide array of experts in the field.)
